As Hong Kong recovers from Typhoon Ragasa, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is resuming normal flight operations starting 0600hrs on 25 September, with all three runways operating simultaneously. Recovery will take time, and the Flight Rescheduling Control System is in place to manage the flow of returning flights.
Overnight Arrivals & Limited Transport
From midnight to 0600hrs, a small number of passenger flights will bring travelers back to Hong Kong from other airports. To support these early arrivals:
- MTR Corporation will run two early trains to the airport at 0530hrs and 0540hrs, and two departing from the airport at 0534hrs and 0544hrs.
- AAHK is actively coordinating with taxi associations, bus companies, and other transport providers to ensure services resume as soon as road safety is assured.
- The Taxi Queue Ticket System remains operational — passengers can obtain a queue number via ticket kiosks or the mobile app and wait for taxis in an orderly fashion.
Please note: Transport options overnight will be limited, and longer waiting times are expected. AAHK will provide assistance where possible.
